Synopsis

This book was intended to be a comprehensive guide and practice book for students preparing for the G.C.S.E. examination in Hindi in Britain. It deals with all the four syllabus areas - Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The teaching materials included in the book are representative of the language as it is actually used in the U.K.

The book proved useful not only to students preparing for the G.C.S.E. examination but also to those who wanted to improve their proficiency in the language. The dialect of Hindi which this book teaches is the standard variety used for writing the language and by educated speakers.

The book is divided into six chapters. The first four chapters deal with the four linguistic skills. The fifth chapter gives essential vocabulary in Hindi and English. Each chapter is sub-divided into topic areas. Some specimen papers are given in the sixth chapter.

This book assumes that the user has attained a certain level of proficiency in Hindi. To those who are not sure weather they have attained this level, I would recommend my 'Hindi Made Easy Books 1,2 & 3'.
